Leader of the Territory's griffons, Northstar is a lionhearted, bold, and noble creature. The oldest and most experienced of the four leaders, Northstar is naturally viewed as the head of the pack, and the one that everyone looks to for guidance. His official role out of the four leaders is that of Strongheart, who is responsible for making tough decisions, and overseeing the general welfare of the Territory. Hatched in the fall, he has brick brown feathers and fur, yellow eyes, and a band of silver that lines the edge of each wing.

One of the best speakers of his clan, the proud Northstar often waxes into more archaic human languages. He adheres strongly to tradition, and is well versed in the stories and legends that the elders tell to pass down the clan's history. He is stubborn at times, and did not believe, at first, that it was right for Zelda to leave the duties of her leadership to join the Ducks. He has an even greater dislike of humans, who he believes are a far greater overall threat than a handful of Saurians with delusions of grandeur. However, the griffon quickly came around when he realized just how big a threat the Saurians were to the planet. He now willingly supports and assists Zelda whenever he can.

Although he is not a specialized fighter, Northstar is perfectly capable of defending himself in battle. With a sharp beak, four sets of claws, and agility on the wing, he is never caught off guard. His open aggression is his biggest threat, and once he is riled, is difficult to calm quickly.
